Rogers Gives Back

Rogers Donates Toys to Puerto Rico for the Holidays

This year disaster struck Puerto Rico in the form of the Zika virus and Hurricane Maria. Rogers was motivated to give back and help in any way we could. We were inspired to make the Holiday Season a little extra special for the children in Puerto Rico. We collected new, unwrapped toys as well as used toys in great condition for children (infants to 14 years of age) to send to Puerto Rico.

We also set up a one-time payroll deduction to allow employees another opportunity to help contribute. Thousands of dollars were collected and Rogers employees and their families took to Target to go shopping for toys for the children! Thank you to each and every one of our employees for your above and beyond donations both in toys and through our payroll deduction program.

We partnered with our friends at Burger King in Puerto Rico to ship the pallets of toys from the United States to Puerto Rico. Thank you Burger King for shipping these for free! We then worked with the Bella Group and the YoNoMeQuito movement in Puerto Rico to deliver the toys to the communities on the island. The #YoNoMeQuito movement or the “I will not give up” movement was founded by the Bella Group’s President, Carlos Lopez-Lay. The Bella Group is a transportation distribution company and one of the largest employers on Puerto Rico. Rogers is proud to stand by them and support in this time of need. Happy Holidays to all from Rogers!
