By using strategic lighting, banks can become safer and more stylish to deter crime and improve the customer experience. Security is essential in the realm of banking, and part of this security comes from effective lighting solutions. Laws require ATMs to have a certain level of bright light visible from 5 feet away in every direction. Bright lights need to be installed in parking areas, ensuring visibility from at least 50 feet in all directions. First Citizens Bank collaborated with Rogers Electric in 2018 to enhance the lighting of their branches nationwide. The project involved upgrading the lighting systems in multiple locations. The partnership between the two companies was successful in achieving this goal.
Over the past four years, our team has installed 1,341 light fixtures and 37 pole lights at over 75 locations. Rogers Electric has been keeping First Citizens Bank’s branches well-lit around the clock. Licensed in 48 states with a national workforce, Rogers Electric ensures that the bank’s lighting needs are met, and their branches shine bright at all hours of the day.

The process of installing or updating lighting in bank facilities involves several critical steps. Initially, the team must evaluate the existing power infrastructure before adding or updating fixtures. This evaluation is crucial to ensure that the new additions are compatible with the current electrical systems and that they comply with all relevant codes and standards.
One of the primary challenges is to find suitable power sources for the new fixtures and ensure that these fixtures operate seamlessly with the existing control systems in the facility. Rogers Electric’s team is skilled at making adjustments on site. They ensure that all controls and power sources meet codes and that the adjustments have minimal impact on the bank’s appearance. To complete the installation, the team has two main options. The first option involves accessing the exterior lighting from inside the building. In this scenario, the team must tie into the existing circuit and run power through the wall to the new fixtures. This method integrates the new fixtures seamlessly into the building’s electrical system.
The second option involves tying into an existing exterior light fixture and running power from the existing fixture to the new one. This approach requires painting the conduit to match the building, ensuring that it blends in with the building’s exterior and remains visually appealing.

The partnership between Rogers Electric and First Citizens Bank exemplifies the importance of strategic lighting in enhancing both security and aesthetics. Effective lighting not only deters potential criminal activity by increasing visibility but also creates a welcoming environment for customers, particularly during after-hours visits.
Moreover, the ability to adapt and the expertise of Rogers Electric in navigating the varying lighting requirements across different states highlight the importance of having a knowledgeable and versatile electrical partner. The ability to stay versed in changing regulations and to implement solutions that meet these standards while maintaining the desired aesthetic is a testament to Rogers Electric’s commitment to excellence.
Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the customer experience at bank facilities. Well-lit environments contribute to a sense of safety and security, which is particularly important for financial institutions. Customers feel safer and more confident using well-lit ATMs and parking areas. This feeling of security can greatly affect how they view the bank and its services.

Furthermore, we should not minimize the aesthetic impact of lighting. Thoughtfully designed lighting can enhance the physical features of a building, creating a visually appealing environment that reflects the bank’s brand and values. Rogers Electric pays attention to detail, ensuring that electrical components and fixtures seamlessly fit into the building’s design, showing their commitment to maintaining the bank’s facilities’ visual appeal.
In conclusion, the strategic implementation of lighting solutions is essential for enhancing security and aesthetics in bank facilities. Through their partnership with First Citizens Bank, Rogers Electric has demonstrated the ability to meet the complex and evolving lighting needs of financial institutions across the United States. Rogers Electric prioritizes regulatory compliance and aesthetic considerations, creating safe, welcoming, and visually appealing environments for all bank customers.
